About Justin Magnuson

Justin Magnuson is the President of the Justice Reform Foundation and the dynamic CEO of Magnuson Capital. A distinguished entrepreneur with a penchant for innovation, his journey interweaves significant business achievements with a deep-seated commitment to justice reform.

A Texas native, Justin’s entrepreneurial spirit was nurtured through an exceptional academic journey. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of North Texas, Justin sought to further sharpen his entrepreneurial acumen, leading him to a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from Southern Methodist University and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.

In 2010, Justin embarked on an ambitious venture, founding a neurodiagnostic testing company that would revolutionize the industry. Over seven years, he transformed the business into a high-performing organization generating around $100 million in annual sales.

Under his stewardship, Stratus Neuro emerged as the country’s largest provider of in-home video monitored EEG, earning a coveted spot on the Inc. 5000’s list for five years in succession. Justin’s entrepreneurial journey didn’t end there; he established a thriving business in the medical field, which continues its upward trajectory.

A turning point came in 2020 when Justin decided to diversify his business interests by entering the cannabis industry. Despite his rigorous efforts to operate within the legal boundaries, he found himself on the wrong side of the law, wrongly accused of illegally distributing marijuana in Texas.

Despite his innocence, Justin spent 20 months in pre-trial incarceration. This ordeal became a defining moment in Justin’s life, providing him with firsthand insight into the injustices of the criminal justice system.

This personal encounter with the system’s flaws led Justin to establish the Justice Reform Foundation (JRF) in 2022. As its President, Justin is committed to standing up for those who have been unjustly treated by the criminal justice system. JRF aims to raise awareness of the system’s unfair practices, championing bail reform, advocating for the decriminalization of marijuana offenses, and providing support for convicts as they reintegrate back into society.

Justin’s leadership is steering JRF towards the abolition of unjust practices that cause harm to the accused, especially those found innocent or who were never formally charged. The foundation is dedicated to engaging with individuals experienced in criminal justice activism and is actively working to expand its board of directors, recruit volunteers, and form partnerships with like-minded organizations.

Justin Magnuson’s mantra is clear: “I am not a victim, and I refuse to live as one. However, I was undoubtedly victimized by our criminal justice system. I’ve dedicated my life to aiding those less fortunate, and if I can prevent even a single person from enduring the injustices I faced, then my experience will have been worthwhile.”

Currently, Justin continues to lead Magnuson Capital as CEO and steers the Justice Reform Foundation as its President. His entrepreneurial prowess, combined with his unwavering commitment to justice reform, continues to effect meaningful change and inspire individuals across the nation.
